Parenting has an important role in shaping children's character. Negative parenting patterns can be seen from parents' words and actions that have a negative impact on the development of children's independence. The parenting style applied by parents greatly affects the development of early childhood. Therefore, parents must continue to encourage all aspects of a child's development, including language skills, gross and fine motor skills, and social and personal aspects. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between maternal parenting and child development at preschool age. This research method is a quantitative design with a cross sectional method by taking the whole of the population of 33 respondents who have preschool-age children. The results of the statistical test showed a p-value of 0.001. This value is lower than ɑ 0.05 so the hypothesis is accepted. Therefore, the results of statistical tests show that there is a significant relationship between maternal parenting and the development of preschool-age children. This study can conclude that good parenting habits can reduce the rate of stunted child development. This is because good parenting from parents will form good characteristics for children's growth and development
