Abstract
The onset of puberty is marked by the arrival of the first menstruation (menarche) in women. Menarche begins early when the child has not yet reached mental maturity, and lack of knowledge. Many young women do not fully understand menarche or menstruation. Lack of knowledge about menarche will have an impact on physical problems, including poor personal hygiene, increased risk of urinary tract infections, irregular menstruation. This study aims to determine the influence of health education with audiovisual media on the increase in knowledge about menarche in elementary school students. So that an overview of knowledge before and after being given menarche health education can be known. As well as the known influence of health education about menarche on increasing knowledge in elementary school students. The type of research used is Quasi Experiment research in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttets Design. This study uses a quantitative method as an approach given to respondents. The sample was 50 people with the Purposive Sampling technique. The results of the study showed that before being given health education about menarche, the average score of the respondents was 70.70 and the majority were in the sufficient category of 33 respondents (66%). After conducting health education about menarche, the average score of respondents was 80 and amyoritas were in the good category as many as 31 respondents (62%). Based on the analysis using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test statistical test, the sig value (2-tailed) showed that there was a difference in the results of knowledge before and after being given health education of 0.000 so that it can be concluded that < p value (0.000 < 0.05), there is a significant influence on the effect of increasing menarche knowledge in students in grades V and VI of SDN 7 Ciamis after being given health education about menarche with audiovisual media.
